About us
A software company that has to use its own software.
Evolqon Technologies LLP licenses the products it builds, and builds software for other businesses. The two feed each other more than they compete for time.
What we are for
Getting small businesses properly online — and keeping them there.
Being online stopped meaning a page someone can find. It means taking a booking at eleven at night, answering “is this free on the 14th?” without opening a notebook, and looking as credible as a business ten times the size. Most of the shops and studios we work with were doing all of that by hand, on a phone, brilliantly and exhaustingly.
Our goal is to close that gap at a price a single-owner business can actually pay — by licensing software we have already built, rather than quoting every one of them for a project.
Every shop we work with was already running well — on a notebook, a phone and a very good memory. Our job is not to modernise them. It is to take the admin off their hands, so they can spend the day doing the thing they were already good at.
The gap we close
Same shop, same Tuesday, handled two ways.
One Tuesday, two ways
10:40
Without
- A booking promised over WhatsApp and written in a notebook
- “Is this free on the 14th?” answered from memory, again
- An advance taken, noted on a phone, reconciled later if at all
- A customer messages to ask what you have, and waits until morning
With
- An order, with the dates blocked the moment it is confirmed
- Availability answered from a screen anyone on the counter can open
- Money recorded against the order, on an invoice carrying your name
- They browse the storefront themselves and send an enquiry that is ready
Why we started
Most small businesses run on software that nearly fits — an Excel or Google Sheet stretched years past what it was meant to hold, a billing package bought for the GST invoices, or a retail tool built for a shop that only ever sells. A rental business keeps its bookings in a notebook alongside all of it, because none of those can handle a piece going out and coming back. An academy tracks its batch in a WhatsApp group, because the tool it pays for was designed for a school with terms.
The gap is rarely a missing feature. It is that nobody building the software ever watched the work being done. We started Evolqon to close it from both directions — building our own products for trades we understand properly, and taking on client work where the same attention is what is actually needed.
Which of those two you need is the first thing we work out together, and how we work sets out both.
What we believe
Three rules we hold to.
Software should survive a busy day
The test is not whether it demos well. It is whether someone with three things going at once can still get it right.
Owning a product changes how you build
When you answer the support message yourself, you stop shipping the clever thing that is hard to explain. That is why we keep our own products rather than only taking client work.
Say the awkward thing early
A scope that is drifting, a deadline that will not hold, a feature not worth building — these get cheaper the sooner they are said out loud.
Where we are today
We work from Bengaluru, take on a small number of projects at a time, and would rather do a few things properly than spread thin across many. That does mean we sometimes say no, or say not yet.
We would also rather tell you what we have not done than imply otherwise. Our client work and product range are still growing, and anything we show you here will be something real with a name attached to it.
